The Structure of a Clinical Hypnotherapy Appointment

Well organized hypnotherapy sessions have an underlying structure. The structure may vary between hypnotherapists, nonetheless, when hypnotherapists recognize and adhere to a structure for every appointment, they will deliver a more consistent and professional service, and will assure positive outcomes for their clients.

For this hour-long presentation, I will describe the structure that I have developed over 20 years of professional practice.

I will describe each stage and will offer specific and important language that I use for each one. I will describe how to seamless move from one stage to the next and, in doing so, build a powerful experience for your clients, while maintaining a natural and comfortable flow throughout the appointment.

Stages include:

  • Greeting and Ice-Break
  • Agree on Objectives
  • The Induction
  • Testing the Induction
  • Doing the Work
  • Affirming the Work
  • Post-Hypnotic Suggestions
  • End the Hypnosis
  • Final Instructions and Farewell

I expect to take about 5 minutes on each of the 9 stages so there will be some time for questions!
